Vintage Wedding Car Rental — What Groups Actually Book
Most vintage wedding car bookings fall into one of three roles, and couples often combine two of them into a single day-of package. Understanding the role first makes the vehicle choice much easier.
- The getaway car (couple exit) — the classic Just-Married departure from the ceremony or reception. Typically a 2-passenger convertible or open-top classic (MG, Jaguar, 1950s Cadillac convertible, Ford Model A) with ribbon, sign, and a short 30–60 minute route. Highest photo impact, lowest total spend.
- The arrival car (bride and father, or couple to ceremony) — an elegant enclosed vintage sedan (Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, Bentley Continental, 1960s Lincoln Continental, 1930s Packard). Timed for photographer arrival, a slow procession, and a graceful curbside stop at the venue.
- The family car (parents, grandparents, wedding party) — a vintage limousine or a second classic sedan that ferries the immediate family so nobody scrambles for parking. Often a stretched 1970s Cadillac or a matching vintage sedan running in tandem with the arrival car.
Booking window: for peak season (May–October) plan on locking in 3–6 months out. Off-season winter weekdays often book same-month, but rare marques (Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, 1930s Packard, 1920s Model A) fill early year-round because inventory in each city is only a handful of cars. Ken's rule of thumb: reserve the car the day your venue is confirmed.
Coordination with the photographer: the vintage car is one of the most-photographed elements of the day. Two weeks before the wedding we ask for the photographer's shot list and arrival window so dispatch can time the car's pull-up to their camera setup. Standard packages include time for the ceremony-exit shot, a staged shot at the reception entrance, and one alternate backdrop (park, downtown, waterfront).
Decoration: standard white satin ribbons on the hood, a Just Married sign or window decal, and interior flower pins are included at no extra charge. Custom-color ribbons or florist-arranged hood pieces can be dropped at the staging location and installed by the driver before pickup.
Chauffeur: included on every booking. Dress code is dark suit and tie by default; formal tuxedo, gloves, or matching color pocket square available on request when you book.

Vintage vs Classic vs Antique — What the Terms Mean
Wedding-industry vocabulary uses these three words interchangeably, but automotive collectors and insurance carriers have specific definitions. Here is the short version so you can search accurately when you talk to us:
- Antique car — generally 45+ years old (most US states use this cutoff for antique license plates). In practice this means pre-1980 vehicles: Rolls Royce Silver Clouds, 1930s Packards, 1950s Cadillacs, Model A Fords.
- Classic car — commonly 20–45 years old. Includes 1980s Bentleys and Rolls Royces, 1970s Lincoln Continentals, early 1980s Cadillac Fleetwoods.
- Vintage car — the strict pre-war definition is 1919–1930, but wedding vendors and rental fleets use "vintage" as a broad umbrella for anything pre-modern (roughly pre-2000) with period styling.
In our fleet these categories overlap heavily. When couples call asking for "an antique car for our wedding" they almost always want the same visual outcome as someone asking for "a vintage car" or "a classic car" — a distinctive, non-modern vehicle that anchors the day's photos. Rather than get stuck on terminology, pick the aesthetic: Rolls Royce Silver Cloud (understated black-tie), 1950s Cadillac convertible (Americana glamour), 1930s Packard (Great Gatsby), Ford Model A (rustic barn-wedding), MG or Jaguar convertible (British roadster), stretched 1970s Cadillac (retro Vegas). Tell us the look and we source what is actually available in your city on your date.
Popular Vintage & Classic Wedding Car Options
Below are the eight vehicle families we source most often for weddings. Availability varies by city and date — use the quote form for your specific date+city and we confirm which of these are locally available and share real photos before you book.
1930s–1950s Rolls Royce Silver Cloud & Silver Wraith
The most-requested vintage wedding car in the country. Understated coachbuilt lines, cream or black paint, chrome grille, wood-and-leather interior. Seats 2–3 in the rear plus the front passenger position. Perfect for the bride's arrival, the ceremony-to-reception transfer, or a classic post-ceremony photo set. In our nationwide affiliate network we regularly source Silver Cloud I, II, and III models along with the earlier Silver Wraith. Priced at the top of the wedding-car range because inventory is thin and demand is heavy.
1960s Bentley Continental & R-Type
The Rolls Royce sister marque, with slightly sportier lines and a more restrained badge. Best for couples who want the black-tie enclosed-sedan aesthetic without going all-in on the Rolls silhouette. Seats 2–3 comfortably; the R-Type Continental in particular photographs beautifully in profile. Regularly sourced in NYC, LA, Miami, Charleston, and Napa markets.
1950s Cadillac (Fins Era) — Series 62, Eldorado, DeVille
Peak Americana glamour: chrome bumpers, tail fins, whitewall tires, two-tone paint. Convertible versions are the highest-demand vintage-wedding-car booking after Rolls Royce because they combine open-top photos with distinctive silhouette. Seats 4–5 including front. Works especially well for outdoor weddings, waterfront venues, and mid-century-modern receptions.
1930s Packard
Great Gatsby aesthetic. Long hood, upright grille, sweeping fenders, side-mounted spare tire. Packard Twelve, Super Eight, and 120 sedans and convertibles are the wedding-industry go-to for 1920s–1930s themed weddings. Seats 4–5. Rarest of the marques on this list — expect to book 6+ months out for peak-season Saturdays.
1920s–1930s Ford Model A
The rustic-barn-wedding car. Black paint, brass headlights, spoked wheels, running boards. Seats 2–4 depending on body style (Tudor, Roadster, Phaeton). Priced at the accessible end of the vintage range and widely available in most metros. Works especially well for country venues, vineyard weddings, and photojournalistic photo styles.
MG & Jaguar Convertibles — British Roadster Look
Small-scale, sporty, open-top. MG TD, MG TF, MG A, Jaguar XK120/140/150, and early E-Type roadsters. Seats 2 — this is a getaway-car choice, not an arrival or family-car choice. Ideal for the couple's departure shot after the ceremony. Popular in coastal markets (LA, Miami, Newport, Charleston) and in college-town weddings.
1970s Lincoln Continental & Mark IV
Long, wide, formal. Suicide-door Continental sedans are a distinctive alternative to the Rolls/Bentley enclosed-sedan look. Seats 4–5. Works especially well for urban weddings where the car needs to hold its own against a skyline backdrop.
Vintage Stretched Limo — 1970s–1980s Cadillac Fleetwood
The family-car workhorse. Seats 6–10 depending on the stretch. Not the ceremony-arrival car, but the vehicle that moves the immediate family and the wedding party without asking anyone to squeeze into a two-seater. Widely available in every major metro. Often booked in tandem with a Rolls or Bentley for the couple's arrival.
Not seeing the exact car you want? Tell us the era, aesthetic, and city in the quote form. Our affiliate network sources coachbuilt marques (Bugatti, Duesenberg, Auburn), muscle cars (1969 Camaro, 1966 Mustang, Chevelle SS), and modern-classic exotics (1980s DeLorean, 1990s Ferrari) for weddings and special events.
How Much Does a Vintage Wedding Car Rental Cost?
Real-world pricing across our nationwide network — no hidden fees, no "starting at" bait pricing. Every quote is all-in and includes vehicle, chauffeur, insurance, fuel, and standard decoration.
- Hourly rate: $200–$500/hr. Common-marque classics (1970s Lincoln Continental, MG convertible, Ford Model A) sit at the low end. Rare marques (Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, 1930s Packard, coachbuilt exotics) sit at the high end.
- Full wedding-day package (3–5 hours with photos): $900–$2,500 flat. Covers pre-ceremony arrival, post-ceremony photos, ceremony-to-reception transfer, and the send-off. Most couples book this bracket.
- Getaway-car-only short trip (30–60 minutes): $350–$700 flat. Ceremony-exit to reception only, or reception-exit to hotel. Popular add-on when the main wedding transportation is a party bus or limo.
- Vintage stretch limo (family car): $150–$300/hr with a 4-hour minimum. Often the second vehicle when a Rolls or Bentley handles the couple's arrival.
What moves the price up: model rarity (Rolls Silver Cloud, 1930s Packard, coachbuilt), high-cost-of-living metros (NYC, LA, San Francisco, Boston), peak season (May through October), Saturdays, and long dead-head distances if the venue is remote. Same car in Iowa on a Wednesday in February will price 30–40% under the same car in Manhattan on a Saturday in June.
What is always included: the chauffeur (formally dressed), full commercial insurance ($1.5M–$5M liability), fuel, standard ribbon and Just Married decoration, complimentary bottled water in the console, coordination with your photographer, and a certificate of insurance (COI) for your venue on request.
